I have killed the obsession,
for it had no apparent traction,
there was passion,
but love? not even a fraction,

I thought it was long dead,
But suddenly it came back to life,
I shivered with such dread,
For fear I'd be back in strife,

The quiver was so strong,
My life became a shaky ground,
But then I knew it was wrong,
Because nothing came round,

So, I quivered all the way to the knife,
Then I stuck it inside my heart,
I thought this was the end of my life,
But then it I found it gave me a head start.
