The way it should be
I want to relax, to breathe without having this heavy thick feeling lodged on my chest. I want to look forward and see a better tomorrow. I want to believe that things will be better. I want to smile and laugh without fearing the soon this laughter will be transformed to tears. I want to feel alive instead of just a bleak acknowledgment of my existence. I want to believe the goodness of people instead of distrusting them. I want to be a symbol of young enthusiasm, optimism and energy. I want to be able to not worry about tomorrow or the next moment. I want to stop stressing about the cars that are coming from my left and right, the people flinging themselves across the streets, potholes that breaks the car, nails that pierce the tires and street directions that don't make any sense. I want to go to work and feel happy instead of feeling as if I am about to be hanged. I want be a better person and I want to live a life of conviction. I want people to be nice because that's how it should be, not because they expect something in return. I want to hear the truth, unedited and whole, because that's the way it should be. I want our streets to be clean and people to believe that they shouldn't litter, because that's the way it should be.
I want to be able to walk down the street and say "saba7 el kheir" to people I don't know, instead of fearing that they would annoy me in any way. I want to be able to travel and see the world without all the restraints and fears that exist. I want to be able to sit in a garden or a public park without witnessing things that annoy me. I want religion to be something to cherish rather than publicize and profit from. I want to not read about all those deadly accidents in the daily newspaper. I want us to make people understand that this country is a gift, as it has always been through history. I want people to realize that stealing from your own people brings you back, rather than pushing you forward. I want things to differ and change because it's its time, rather than it changing to fulfill an individual purpose. I want us to go back to the time when people behaved admirably, men were chivalrous, children were innocent, life was slow and enjoyable.
I want us to go back to the way it should be.
